What is a hard-shell hyperbaric chamber?

A hard-shell hyperbaric chamber has a rigid body, made from composite, steel or aluminium, instead of reinforced fabric. The rigid shell allows larger viewing windows, built-in seating, touch-screen controls and intercoms, and a cabin that feels more like a room than a pod. Our hard-shell chambers run at up to 2.0 ATA.

Lying, seated and two-person models

  • Hard Shell 2.0: a lying composite chamber, about 90 × 230 cm, with an 80 × 60 cm window, a 13-inch touch screen outside and a 9-inch screen inside, intercom, air conditioning and a UV lamp for cleaning between sessions. 1.3 to 2.0 ATA.
  • Seat One: a one-person seated chamber built from pressure-vessel steel, with a massage chair, TV and built-in oxygen masks. Up to 2.0 ATA.
  • Seat Duo: a two-person seated chamber with two massage chairs, a 43-inch TV and oxygen masks for both users, so every session slot serves two people. 1.3 to 2.0 ATA.

Who hard-shell chambers suit

Hard shells suit clinics, gyms, recovery studios and sports teams that run back-to-back sessions, and home owners who want a permanent, premium recovery room. If you're adding hyperbaric to a business, see HyperRecovery for Business for revenue planning and site checks.

Site requirements

Hard-shell chambers are heavy and need more planning than soft chambers. Check the floor rating, the full delivery route and the clearance around the chamber. The Hard Shell 2.0 system uses about 2.6 kW including air conditioning, while the seated Seat One and Seat Duo draw up to about 5 kW and 6.7 kW and need a dedicated circuit installed by a licensed electrician. We confirm access and power requirements with you before you order.
